The Beach Girls and the Monster (1965)
Jon Hall, Sue Casey, Arnold Lessing
A group of teenagers who only want to hang out on the beach and have a little fun before becoming boring old fogies, like their folks, are menaced by a homicidal guy in a rubber monster suit. The acting was awful, the southern California coastal locations were great and the home's sunken bar was to die for. A winner, at least by Velveteen Lounge standards!
We also "screened" Another Thin Man for our guests over the weekend, which I've delved in to at length in the past. It's never the wrong time for a Thin Man film!
May 17 - May 23:
We've been too busy preparing to make movies to actually watch any, unfortunately. We have a pile from Netflix that we really need to get to.
May 10 - May 16:
Village of the Giants (1965)
Tommy Kirk, Beau Bridges, Ronny Howard
Moronic teens battle other moronic teens for a substance that turns anything that ingests it into a giant (invented by "Genius," played by child actor "Ronny" Howard) and attempt to take over. I'd love this film no matter what, but the dance sequences and costumes put it into the "must own" category.
