
We have a new specialty to add to the Velvetiki Room menu--sliders!

Betty Crocker sent an email last week about happy hour eats, featuring a recipe for Cajun sliders. I decided to try some with a more tropical spin, so I combined ground chicken with soy sauce, pineapple juice, sriracha sauce, curry, ginger, salt and pepper and bread crumbs. Paul threw them on the grill and they were heavenly! I then made a pineapple relish to go with them, which consisted of crushed pineapple, fresh lime juice, salt, pepper, cayenne pepper, ginger and dried onions, and that was also divine. I also made some macaroon-like coconut patties for two weekend gatherings. It was a good week in the Kitsch-en!
