I made a banana pudding this week in honor of Elvis Presley's 76th birthday, which we took to a party and did not get a picture of, so I'm presenting another installment of the sort of happy hour nibbles you can whip up if you have a well-stocked pantry.

It snowed Friday and there was no way I was going to the supermarket, but fortunately I had a can of sardines, from which I made a spread for crackers. I combined them with garlic, dill and some other herbs, pepper and a little olive oil in the food processor and came up with the kind of spread that goes for big money in the supermarket. It just goes to show you what you can do when you have cans of fun foods and spices on hand.
