I was looking for something festive to make for New Year's Eve dessert and landed on Meringue Kisses, from the Joy of Liberace cookbook:



These proved to be a good choice, because they're very light and we were stuffed on lobster, crab legs, rice, Brussels sprouts, cheese and crackers and cocktails by the time dessert rolled around. They're also really easy to make. I took a cue from the picture in the book and added food coloring, then sprinkled with colored sugar, for further fanciness. Perfect with champagne cocktails!
