Here are some more ideas for a quickie happy hour that you can throw together in just a few minutes, with very little money:

In this quick happy hour I've fallen back on some of the oldest and easiest tricks in the book, including finding prepared items at the store (the smoked oysters and garlic bread) and sour cream dip. I didn't use a soup mix, which would have been easier yet, but all I did was toss together some sour cream with salt, pepper, garlic, cayenne pepper and Herbes de Provence. It took perhaps one minute more than a packet of soup would have. The garlic bread was not only lazy, but also thrifty, as it was "reduced for quick sale." You can save a bundle by seeking out bakery items on their last sale date. Happy hour should be happy, so, if you don't have time to slave over appetizers, don't. Let the grocery store do the work for you, kick back with your drink and relax!
