My search for a quintessential Halloween treat for the next Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en Halloween Happy Hour led me to popcorn balls:



These tasty treats fulfilled all of the requirements for being in a Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en video: they require few ingredients, which makes them easier to shoot, they're traditional and they're fun! They're also really easy. All you do is make popcorn, then, in a separate pot, heat 1/2 cup dark corn syrup, 1/2 cup sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt until the sugar dissolves, then toss with the popcorn and form into balls with buttered hands (AFTER it cools a little). They'll send you straight back to your childhood!
