It was a goofy week in the Velveteen Lounge Kitsch-en, climaxing with Rip Taylor Fondue!
I'd already made rum balls and red velvet cookies, plus tried out some recipes for our party in a couple of weeks, which were all fun and yummy, but things took a turn for the truly lunatic when our great pal Zach, who came up for the weekend, gave us a lollipop in the shape of Rip Taylor's mustache, which he'd gotten for us at a collectors' convention in California some time ago. He'd kept it alive in his fridge and it was no worse for wear, but it seemed kind of anticlimactic to just devour it, so I got the bright idea to fondue it with white chocolate. Since he's famous for tossing confetti, I added some sugar sprinkles for decorative purposes. It was really yummy and I'm pretty sure we were the only people eating Rip Taylor mustache fondue on Sunday!
