Our camera is sort of, um, broken right now, which doesn't bode well, and which also precluded me taking a picture of the new spread I created this week. Here is a gratuitous food shot in its place, although the stuff in the middle does resemble my spread slightly.



It's appropriate that this picture is from the Hawaii Kai Cookbook since my spread was inspired by a completely unrelated recipe in that same book. I started with a cream cheese base, to which I added apricot preserves, Sriracha sauce, ginger, macadamia nuts and salt. I tried a few different versions and discarded a few ingredients, until I came up with one I think is a winner. Hopefully I'll be able to take a photo of it someday. In the meantime, drop on by and try it for yourself!
