This was a crazy week, culminating in my spending a great deal of time on Friday either at the car dealership, getting our car fixed, or en route to or from the car dealership. I didn't have a lot of time for appetizers for happy hour, but that was okay, since I made these quick and easy babies!

I found myself at Shop Rite with very little time to spare before the drinks would be flowing. I whipped up a garlic herb dip from half a container of sour cream, three cloves of minced garlic and a couple of generous dashes each of sage, rosemary and marjoram, with salt, black pepper and cayenne pepper for good measure. I also picked up a can of fancy crab meat, which I mixed with mayo, salt, pepper and cayenne pepper and spread on bagel chips. Paul especially loved that. I set out some olives and we had an appetizer banquet fit for a king, for very little time or money! Never let a shortage of either bother you. Our first ever happy hour, celebrated when we still lived in New Rochelle, about eight years ago, was a spur of the moment idea. Of such ideas are traditions born!
